Using up and down Arrow keys on a table scrolls horizontally

      Issue Summary

This is an inconsistency in the new editor with different behavior between Jira and Confluence, where the Up and Down arrows are scrolling horizontally between columns rather than vertically in Jira but still scroll vertically in Confluence,  the behavior started with an update sometime in late November

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Add a table to a text field such as a comment in Jira
      2. Use up and down arrows to navigate

      Expected Results

The cursor position moves vertically in the direction of the arrow key used

      Actual Results

The cursor moved left when selecting the Up arrow key and right when selecting the Down arrow key

      Workaround

Currently, there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available

It looks like this bug is there again, at least for Confluence

It is disappointing that this is a Low priority - its clearly a bug that you have introduced as it has only recently changed and it affects every single story I create (which is dozens a day) I cannot find any alternative keyboard shortcut and so it is affecting the speed and flow of my work. It seems we now have 3 ways to move to the next column (tab, right arrow, down arrow) but no way to go down other than tabing multiple times though the columns or using the mouse. Not the end of the world but extremely time consuming when one is used to speeding through tasks using keyboard shortcuts.

Please consider raising the priority of this ticket
