Issue Summary
You can edit the name of a status by either clicking on a status while viewing the workflow editor in diagram mode, and then clicking on Edit, or by navigating to the global Statuses page at https://<YOUR_SITE>.atlassian.net/secure/admin/ViewStatuses.jspa
But currently if you edit the name of a status on the global page, the Step name displayed on the workflow editor (text mode) will remain named after the old status' name:
- Step name on the left
- Notice that the step name remained as Selected for Development B, while the status is currently named as Selected for Development C
Steps to Reproduce
- Navigate to the Statuses global page https://<YOUR_SITE>.atlassian.net/secure/admin/ViewStatuses.jspa
- Click on Edit next to a status and change its name
- Access a workflow that uses that status, and check the current Step name
Expected Results
The step name will follow the new name.
Actual Results
The step name remains as the old name.
Workaround
There are two possible workarounds depending on your scenario:
- If you update the status name directly on the workflow editor, the Step name will be updated correctly:
- But still, that will not update the Step name on other workflows that are using the very same status
- If you have different workflows using the same status, simply clicking on Edit on the status while in a workflow editor, and then clicking on Update (without changing anything) will update the step name of that status. See the recording: Update step name.mp4
