When going to a projects option "Issues", you can see a basic search that allows you to search and filter from the issues in that project:

This is fine, but when you want to do a more complex search or customize the columns, you have to jump t the Advanced search.

The suggestion is to simply integrate all the advanced search functionalities in the Issues option, so it is no longer required to jump to the advanced search every time, OR at least allow the columns to be customized which would already help with visibility, for example, being able to see the parent-child relation.
