NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

Currently, for commenting using mail handlers (Add a comment from none quoted email body, Add a comment from the entire email body and Add a comment before a specified marker or separator in the email body) does not posess the option to select which project to add the comment on. The mail handler will comment on respective issues provided there is a issue key available on the subject field without the ability to limit the commenting only to a particular project.

Example: I have project A (PRA), B(PRB) and C(PRC) created, and I configured my mail handler to "Add a comment before a specified marker or separator in the email body". My users can actually comment on all the projects. What if I do not want the issues in PRB and PRC to be commented, there is no way of doing so.

Therefore, I would suggest that commenting from mail handler can also associated with projects so that administrators have the selection of which project that the mail handler will handle the commenting (something similar to the create issue selection on the mail handler).
