      Hi everyone,

      Thanks for voting and commenting on this issue. Your input in the comments helps us understand how this affects you and what you're hoping to accomplish with JIRA.

      At this time, this suggestion is not on the JIRA development roadmap. However, there are a number of plugins that offer this post-function for JIRA Server on the Atlassian Marketplace, and JIRA Suite Utilities, mentioned below, is free and pre-installed in JIRA Cloud.

      In version 3.2.2 it isn't possible to add through the web interface a post-function that updates the value of a custom field

      Workaround

      The JIRA Suite Utilities third-party plugin offers a Update custom field post-function.
