Hi  everyone, we added the feature back with the opt-in configuration in Jira Settings -> System -> Look and feel -> Favicon. The Jira Admin user can enable the feature by clicking the checkbox of the "Use project avatar/icon as favicon".  This feature with the opt-in configuration has rollout to all users, please feel free to enable it if you want to continue to use project avatar as favicon. Thanks again for your interest! |
Hi everyone Thank you for your interest and feedback with regards to project based browser tab icons (favicon).
A few weeks ago, we released a feature as an experiment, where 50% of Jira Cloud sites had their tab icon changed to the project avatar, instead of the default Jira logo (or a custom image upload).
We have decided to stop the experiment for the time being. All users should now see the same favicon as they did before the experiment had started.
We really appreciate all the feedback that you have provided over this period. They give valuable insights which will help inform our next steps with this feature.

The favicon (browser tab icon) of Jira pages have recently been changed to use the project avatar. Previously, the product logo was used.
It could be good to have the ability to decide which gets used as the tab icon.
