This is available in the Teams dropdown in Top Navigation of JSM.

Find the team you want to make private, click on the 3 dots next to add people in team profile and navigate to Team settings.

            Quote Hi all

We are happy to announce that now you can change your teams from Open to Closed.

For existing teams, in teams settings, if you untick "Allow anyone to join and become a member" - the team will become closed.

For newly created teams, they are closed by default. Unquote

I think this was shown at Team '23 but I haven't seen it out in the wild yet... Is there an EAP or something?

Aslo should this be linked to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-80976 ?
