Summary
User having both the Portal as well as license account appears twice in the People. To fix this problem the Admin has to choose Migrate to Atlassian Account for these accounts. But, if the number of such cases are high it creates additional manual work for the Admin.
So, system should be capable to identify such cases and merge both the accounts.
Problem Definition
- Create Portal only customer
- Add same email address as a licensed user from the user management
- Go to the People page, this user will appear twice
- Now, navigate back to the Portal customer list and select Migrate to Atlassian account from the More options dropdown
- Duplicate username will be resolved in the people page
Why this is important
As mentioned in the Manage JSD customer document, Admin needs to migrate user with the same email address from Portal to Atlassian Account.
However, if the site has more such cases it becomes additional manual work for the Admins.
Workaround
Migrate the portal customer to the Atlassian account.
