Our Jira Cloud site did migrate from Server, but this issue is experienced on all new JSM-created tickets, not just migrated issues.

@Anusha Rutnam, our Jira instance was migrated from server to Cloud.

Could the watchers of this issue let me know if they have been affected by this issue despite not migrating from Server to Cloud?

I can see that the problem is indeed still affecting sites after migration, but I cannot reproduce this behaviour in my Jira Cloud instance (which has not been migrated). If this is solely a post-migration issue now, I would like to update this ticket's Description so we can make sure the correct teams are aware of the bug. Thank you.

The workaround in the description does NOT help or solve the problem. As the image size increases, the large white-space margin also increases.

The only work-around that actually helps is:

            1. download the image
            2. attach the issue again (re-insert the image)
            3. optional: delete the old attachment

This seems to affect all image attachments migrated from Server to Cloud, which makes this workaround impractical.

omg. right.  I forgot about that.  can't even properly attach images in these comments.   three jokes in one.

Seriously though, is this a joke?  This is acceptable to Atlassian?

That's a new ticket, created in JSM, and I've zoomed out my browser enough to see the description field in edit mode, top to bottom, after dragging the resize handles so I can actually see what's on that tiny inline image (which was not tiny in the original email - I've had the internal user show me their sent item, and seen it for myself).   And by the time I've grown it to a reasonable width, its height is a terrible joke.  All that whitespace??  Can't get rid of it.

But wait - it's two jokes in one!  Deleted that image, and tried to re-insert it, but not wiht the "insert image" oh no, that only pops open the File Upload dialog now!! Under the + menu, find a "Insert attachment" - inserts images only as a thumbnail.

As the old view will not being availlable soon, is there an other workaround?
