Issue Summary

Instead of Former user being the value displayed for fields such as assignee or reporter where a deleted user is present, the full name value is being retrieved from their Atlassian Account.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a user.
      2. Assign them an issue or make them the reporter.
      3. Remove the user from the site.
      4. View the issue where they are included.

      Expected Results

The deleted user is displayed as Former user

      Actual Results

The full name value from their Atlassian Account is shown.

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available

          Form Name

[JRACLOUD-72687] (Former user) not being displayed for deleted users

            Hi

Only users that have deleted their accounts (or managed accounts that have been deleted by an admin) are expected to show up as "Former User." Users that still exist in our system but not on the site will still show the name that their privacy controls allow the viewing user to see. (Atlassian user accounts are separate from the sites they are part of and are controlled by that user, they are also used for things like bitbucket).

There was a short period of time where all users removed from a site where displayed as "Former User," but that is no longer the case (and many users did not like the change to that behaviour and it made viewing historical data difficult.)

I'm going to close this ticket as "won't fix".
