Summary

On the personal settings page https://example.atlassian.net/secure/ViewPersonalSettings.jspa if the language is not set the user can´t change any settings and there is no specific error message.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Go to personal settings - https://example.atlassian.net/secure/ViewPersonalSettings.jspa
2. Check if in the field language the option Pick your language is selected
   
3. Try to change any other settings and click Save changes

Expected Results

An error message informing that the language is required must be displayed to force the user to choose a language

Actual Results

The generic error message below is displayed:

 "couldn't save your preferences something went wrong. try again. reload this page." 

Workaround

Ensure that the language is set before saving any changes
