Problem Definition

At this moment, with the new, updated left sidebar, if it is collapsed and the user hovers the mouse over it, it automatically expands.

The same behavior is occurring if the menu is extended, if the user clicks near it collapses, instead of giving the option to resize, even though the cursor changes to the "resize" icon.

Suggested Solution

Add the ability for users to choose the behaviour of the left sidebar, either enabling or disabling the full menu when the sidebar is collapsed and the user hovers the mouse over it.

Why this is important

Users were already used with a minimalistic, collapsed left sidebar. Re-adding this feature would greatly improve the user experience.

Workaround 

There are many functionalities of the left sidebar that can be accessed via keyboard shortcuts. To consult the full list, type the question mark (?) in your keyboard.
