Summary

Cannot change Jira language to English if the browser language is not English

Environment

Google Chrome Browser

Steps to Reproduce

Set browser language to Dutch or Portuguese
Set Jira Language to English and set Personal Setting Language to Dutch or Portuguese
Try to change the language to English

Expected Results

Jira instance is in English

Actual Results

Jira instance follows browser language

Workaround

Change the language in Personal Settings to Dutch or Portuguese
Save and Refresh the page
Change it back to English and Save
