As a user, I would like that the notification panel could be deactivated

Description

As a user, I would like that the notification panel could be deactivated, The bright red unread notifications count is incredibly distracting. I don't need the notifications panel since I receive all notifications via e-mail anyway.

Expected results

Have an option at the settings to deactivate the notification panel
