Summary
Filters cannot be edited or have their owner changed if it is shared with a project which cannot be accessed
Environment
- Jira Cloud
Steps to Reproduce
- Create 2 projects on a Jira cloud site
- Add issues to these projects
- Create a complex filter to return issues from both projects
- Save the filter and share it with both projects
- Revoke the "Browse project" permission from one of the projects
- Try to edit the filter or try to change the filter's owner
Expected Results
The user can edit the filter and can change the filter's owner
Actual Results
The user cannot edit the filter or change its owner. The messages below are displayed:
- When the user tries to edit the filter:
The filter Filter could not be saved.
- When the user tries to change the filter owner:
The user 'User' does not have permission to share with Project: 'Project'
Notes
Workaround
Remove the project the user does not have permission from the share filter option. To do it, please follow the steps described below:
- On Jira, click the magnifier icon at the left of the screen and click View all filters
- Locate the filter affected by the problem and click more(...) > Edit filter details
- Click the trash can icon next to Project: [Unknown Project]
- Click Save
