Summary
As described at JIRA Quick Search and the issue key prefix "The Quick Search box (at the top-right of your JIRA screen) can sometimes find issues when you type just the number ... This is due to the concept of a 'selected project'... If you have recently done actions in a project like viewing an issue, that project becomes your 'selected project'. JIRA tries to 'guess' which issue you are looking for, given the 'selected project'."
Behaviours observed:
Scenario: you want to search for the issue AIM-123 using the quick search, if you have the project AIM set as your selected project it should be possible to find the issue using only 123 but once you do a quick search Nothing is returned.
Steps to Reproduce
- Enter the project where the to be searched issue is
- Quick Search using only the issue number
- Nothing returned
Expected Results
- The issue with the issue number related to the 'selected project' should return as the result of the quick search
Actual Results
- No issues returned
