When sorting results of issues by clicking on column header of any text field , the resulting sort order is technically correct but counterintuitive for users with languages that have certain special characters included in its alphabet:
The sorting is currently as follows:
First the text with upper case first letter (A-Z) occur
then the text with lower case first letter (a-z) occur
then the text with special characters, sorted on similar manner (upper case first, lower case after).
Examples for this are Polish, German and Spanish.
The suggestion is that these special characters should be sorted according to the alphabet of the language currently in use.
- An specific example in Spanish: the six characters with diacritics Á, É, Í, Ó, Ú, Ü are treated as the original letters A, E, I, O, U, therefore when sorting, it should be A, Á...E, É...I, Í...O, Ó.
