Attachments (of the same name) have a strange and long string of characters in their name

Summary

Adding more attachments of the same name as the original causes their filenames so be appended with a strange and long string of characters.

Expected Results

The attachments should have names like <filename> (1).<ext>, <filename> (2).<ext>, etc.

Actual Results

The original filename remains at <filename>.<ext>; the subsequent ones have names like <filename> (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).<ext>, where the *x*es are hexadecimal digits. See screenshot below.

Until this feature is implemented, it would be helpful if at least some sort of alert or pop-up is shown to the user to intimate that they are uploading duplicate-named files.
