Description
Problem Definition
JIRA CSV import provides the log information if the import fails. However, the log does not explain in details on the root cause. For an example, below error is showing in the log report:
2017-08-01 12:51:41,857 INFO - Importing issue: [externalId='autoid-7931768510384360143', summary='CSV import'] 2017-08-01 12:51:41,936 ERROR - Error importing issue [externalId='autoid-7931768510384360143', summary='CSV import']
But the import actually fails due to mismatch values in the CSV file (e.g: the Status field contains a value that does not exist in the respective JIRA project)
Suggested Solution
It would be helpful to the users if JIRA could provide more detailed log report on what is causing the import failure. This could help giving the customer a hint on where the issue lies on too.
