JIRA OnDemand unable to create issues with email attachment more than 10MB

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

Although attachment size limit was changed from 10MB to 20MB from JIRA Admin (OnDemand) but it has not taken effect for attachments entering JIRA via email. If issues is created via JIRA UI then it's OK.

      Reproduce steps:

      1. Configured a mail handle Create Issue & Comment on existing issue using OnDemand POP Mail Server (mailstore).
      2. Configure attachment size limit (System -> Advanced -> Attachment). From 10MB to 20MB.
      3. Use gmail to send many emails to mail handler
      4. If the email does not include attachment or attachment size less than 10MB then issues is created.
      5. How ever, if the attachment size is 10.4MB, it is rejected (see screen shoot).
      6. If issue is created via OnDemand UI, user can attach 10.4MB file without any problems.

      Please help

      Resolution

Customers are advised to host their own POP server if they wish to handle bigger issue attachments.

The limit of 10 MB for the Atlassian OnDemand POP server needs to stay in place due to resource consumption limitations.
