Today I came across a problem reported by a customer that was caused by stale data in Tomcat's work directory.
Their workflow transition editor was still the old version instead of the new one (involving the new workflow designer stuff), and wasn't working properly. Clearing the Tomcat work directory fixed it, but we wasted a lot of Support, QA and dev time trying to figure out the problem.
Had we cleared it on upgrade, the customer never would have run into the problem.
Is it OK for the icebat to be modified to always clear Tomcat's work directory on upgrade? Or is there a more correct way to deal with this class of problem?
