The applet will load, ask you to update your JAVA plugin (even if you've previously done this), then not paste a captured screenshot. I reproduced this on the latest version of OSX and the latest version of Firefox.

The work around here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Unable+to+Attach+Images+Using+the+Screenshot+Applet+in+Firefox worked neither for me nor the customer.

      Workaround:
      Use the HTML5 version: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.plugins.jira-html5-attach-images

[JRACLOUD-66368] Attach Screenshot Applet Doesn't Work in Firefox

            Hi all,

As part of JRA-31917 (since JIRA 6.2.5), the Screenshot Applet has been completely re-written and replaced by a brand new plugin.

The new plugin makes of HTML5 APIs to access the clipboard and attach screenshots in modern browsers supporting these APIs (currently Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 11).

Legacy Internet Explorer versions (IE8-IE10) are supported via a compatibility applet that provides the missing HTML5 clipboard access features to these browsers.

Customers are encouraged to update to Internet Explorer 11 as soon as possible to avoid depending in client side java and therefore obtain the best user experience.

Apple Safari is currently not supported, given that there's a bug in its clipboard javascript implementation that prevents the feauture to work HTML5.

Legacy support via Java for Safari is not possible anymore since Java 7 for Mac OSX as the quicktime extensions that allowed this no longer work.

Users on Safari are encouraged to use either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox in this platform so they can still use this feature until the Webkit/Safari bug is resolved.

            Hope the information helps.

            Regards,

            Oswaldo Hernández.

It's not available for OD customers yet.

Is the jira-html5-attach-images available for on-demand customers?

The workaround did not work for me either. I disagree that the priority is minor. The inability to attach screen shots is a major inconvenience.
