Filter Results Gadget fails to load correctly and cannot be edited

Adding an empty filter results gadget to a dashboard results in a dashboard where the filter results gadget cannot be edited. Exisiting filter result gadgets on the dashboard works but cannot be edited either.

The javascript console outputs:
