Regression JRA-17411 - Misleading error when accessing Dashboards without permission to see gadgets' filters in JIRA Cloud

Summary

When accessing a dashboard with gadgets that depends on filters that the user does not have access to, the error message is misleading and does not reflect the true nature of the problem:

Unfortunately, one or more of your preferences are now unavailable. Please update your preferences, or remove gadget by clicking delete from the title bar above.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a private (not shared) filter;
2. Add a Pie Chart gadget to a shared Dashboard;
3. Use the private filter on the Pie Chart gadget;
4. Access this dashboard as another user.

Expected Results

An error mentioning the user is unable to view the filter or project would be displayed as in JIRA 6.3.15:

The following error is displayed:

Notes

1. The problem is simply that the user viewing the gadget does not have permission to view the filter.
2. The problem will happen if any field values was missing from the filter.

Workaround

• Note 1: Grant the user the necessary permission to view the filters used by the affected gadgets.
• Note 2: Remove the missing field values from the filter.
