Cannot import Trello board on JIRA Core (No valid issue type error)

    Description

      JIM creates empty project, without any issue types defined. It tries to find default issue type, but as there are no issue types the operation ends with an exception:

      Notes

      This issue has the same root-cause of JRA-46227

      Workaround

      Projects created by Trello importer are using Default Issue Type Scheme. Import requires at least one task issue type and one subtask issue type to be defined in default issue type scheme. Subtask issue type is also recommended to import check-list. More details on defining issue types: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/ADMINJIRASERVER071/Defining+issue+type+field+values

      Because of JRA-46227 it can be the case that Task and Sub-Task issue types are not defined in the Default Issue Type Scheme. In this case you can proceed as follows:

      • JIRA Server
        Follow the instructions in this KB to add the issue types to the scheme
      • JIRA Cloud
        Open a support ticket at Atlassian Support to have those issue types added.
