Update from March 2025:
Hi everyone,
We have now started working on this feature, along with a refresh of how fields are created and managed - and targeting for some of these changes to be in production in June/July. This is an early estimate so subject to changes, but I'll keep you all informed.
We'll be conducting some user research around some of these changes (not necessarily for sorting and filtering), please email me if you are interested and I will send you more details at a later date.

Our JIRA instance contains ~100 custom fields. It would be nice to have the custom field list be searchable, sortable, and/or filterable by custom field type, name, usage, etc. This is helpful for the organization of current fields implemented in our instance, as well as measuring whether a new custom field is needed in our instance.
