      Problem Definition

      Currently, CATALINA_BASE and CATALINA_HOME are in the same location. As per recommendations from https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-8.0-doc/RUNNING.txt :

      Using distinct values for the CATALINA_HOME and CATALINA_BASE variables is recommended to simplify further upgrades and maintenance.

      Suggested Solution

      Have an independent CATALINA_BASE and CATALINA_HOME
