Summary:

Issue description with colon (: ) does not work in quick search. If the colon : is added to the search string, it works.
The Quick search does not work with numeric search.

Environment:

JIRA 7.1.7
PostgresSQL
Version 51.0.2704.103 (64-bit)

Steps to reproduce:

• Create a ticket with the description Test : ACIS2016-00359
• Go to the quicksearch textbox and look for ACIS2016-00359 without the colon and it will throw the below error:

• However, if you search with the colon : ACIS2016-00359, it returns the expected result as below:
  • 

• Numeric search:
• 

Workaround

• There is no workaround as such, the user needs to include the colon with the search or user JQL search instead.

Observations:

• There is no issue with other special characters such as ( . It works as documented (that is to escape it) or we can search without it and it returns the result
