As Release Manager, I would like a short URL of Released Version (like it was before Atlassian made the URL longer) so that it is easier to share across the company

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

We would like the URL of a specific Released Version to be shorter, like it used to be

(Regression change versus two weeks ago in JIRA Cloud — i.e. it didn't used to have this problem)

      1. click on Releases.

      • URL is like https://<base>.atlassian.net/projects/<project-key>/versions/

      2. click on a version from the list of releases

      3. if not done so already, use "Enable Warnings" on right hand side to uncheck both boxes

      4. the page URL inappropriately has "/tab/release-report-all-issues" suffix

Issue Caused By Recent Change in Cloud

This problem is caused by a change in a very recent release of JIRA Cloud.

Previously the "/tab/release-report-all-issues" URL suffix was not there.

Please note that this lengthy URL causes the following issues:

      • from across the company, staff copy the URL from step 4 above
      • then paste it into a Skype chat, or into a Confluence page
      • "/tab/release-report-all-issues" is inelegant and needless
      • Before pasting into Skype chat or Confluence page, the URL can be manually edited to remove the "/tab/release-report-all-issues" suffix, and URL will still work, but majority of users are not aware of that possibility
      • the whole point of the Released Version page is URL sharing across the company, so why have Atlassian now changed the page to have a needlessly lengthy URL with "/tab/release-report-all-issues" URL suffix ?

      Expected Behaviour

      • Address bar should not display "/tab/release-report-all-issues" URL suffix, ever.
      • Address bar should display in format of:
        https://<base>.atlassian.net/projects/<project-key>/versions/<version-internal-number>
      • "Issues In Version" is the default tab (when you have "Enable Warnings" all unchecked), so the suffix is not welcome.
