      After mentioning a pre-existing issue in a description or comment, somehow prompt to add the issue as an actual link.

      We spend considerable time going back and adding actual linked relationships to issues people mention in comments or in descriptions. Would love a way for users to be able to do both simultaneously.

      Here is an example of an automatically added link in Issue Links > mentioned in:

            Hi 72c8ace2478c, thanks so much for explaining - I definitely misunderstood the request. Let me try and find more documentation on the feature you described so that I can add it to the Description.

            @Anusha

            from my POV no - I'm not sure, if this was a plugin or base functionality in the on prem version, but there you could write somehwere in the ticket e.g. "see JRASERVER-60379" and it right away added a real link between the tickets (in both of them) as "mentioned by" / "mentions" in the Issue Links area.

            Issue keys already auto-convert to become links:
            Screen Recording 2024-03-04 at 9.17.21 pm2.mov

            The format in which the link unfurls depends on each user's link preferences, which are set on https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/link-preferences

            Does this satisfy the requirements of the watchers of this ticket? Thank you!
