Problem Definition

Previously on Older JIRA versions(earlier than 6.4.x) the project summary page defaulted to the statistics view but now it defaults to the activity stream view.

From customer:

When we go to a project we'd rather see the overall status at a glance and then drill into the required detail by any path (e.g. assignee, component, status). This is a more common workflow for our support projects and the statistics view facilitates it better than the activity view.
Also we generally setup our notifications to send updates to all watchers on an issue. So a lot of the time the activity stream is listing updates you already know about.
