      Problem Definition

When searching for issues in Jira in the issue navigator, it is possible to see at a column that indicates this issue is linked to another issue and see that issuekey. However the issue navigator is not currently able to show the end users what kind of link this is. This is important information to have in the context of understanding how issues relate to each other in Jira.

      Suggested Solution

It would be great if the issue navigator could add an additional column that could then show end users not only the link issuekey, but also the link type that this other issue has with the issue in question in Jira. Taking into account that Jira issues can have multiple linked issues of various types.

      Why this is important

Transparency in data, ease of use, helping users more quickly and easily understand how issues relate to each other in Jira

      Workaround

      None

      Original Request

Currently users can configure the Issue Navigator to show a column for linked issues, but they can only see the issue keys of these linked issues.

It's great if users can also see the link type of the linked issues in Issue Navigator.

            Hi all,

We've recently added the Link Type information into the Linked Issues column in the Issue Navigator. You'll now be able easily understand the relationship between linked issues without opening them.

            Thanks,
            Daniel

It absolutely a MUST HAVE! We have a very complex Environment and Complex Structure between Issues so we want to have some analytics around it and also swift view to show the Distribution of Links around issues.

YES - I need this functionality! I have a query for bugs, and I'd really like to know which of those bugs are blocking another issue so I could put those bugs at the top of the list during my bug triage meeting. At this point, all I can do is see that they're LINKED to another issue - not whether that link type is BLOCKS.

This feature request has been GATHERING INTEREST for almost 7 years now! How many votes do we need for it to be considered for REVIEWING and further statuses?

This is a VERY IMPORTANT feature which currently can only be achieved manually with a LOT of time! Can we hence please expedite it's delivery?

P.S. - The issue description of this ticket talks about 'users can also see the link type of the linked issues in Issue Navigator'. However, it doesn't explicitly mention about the Issue Link Type being a separate column from the existing Issue Link column. We would like Issue Link Type to be a separate column from the Issue Link column, so the former can be manipulated easily (inside or outside of Jira). Thank you!
