      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Activity Stream can generate more than 12K bytes of URL request. This obviously will throws error like ERROR 414 Request-URI Too Large .

      ERROR 414 is thrown by Apache if the JIRA's request is too long. For example, we have KB at on how to fix the problem:

      However, this workaround is not sufficient if the URL is very long exceeding 12392 bytes.

      Suggestions:

      • since Activity Stream is using GET , change to POST request

      Workaround:

      If this happens while downloading attachments - try 'Download All' option, it might work.
