    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

Currently in custom fields, it is not possible to insert any placeholders. It would be much nicer (and cleaner) if we could place some information text within the textfield itself, and not below the field (as it usually is if we include a description of the field).

An example would be the textfield that we have in our Support Site :

[JRACLOUD-37143] Allow placeholder in custom textfield

            Hi !
Building the Jira environnement for Agile transformation. This feature could help a lot ! For exemple : create a placeholder with the structure of a user story, to ease the understanding for new users.

Is this issue is resolved ? Or there is any other way to insert placeholder text in custom fields.

The best issue in the world! We need it too! We want to use it as mask for custom field.
