NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.
Currently in custom fields, it is not possible to insert any placeholders. It would be much nicer (and cleaner) if we could place some information text within the textfield itself, and not below the field (as it usually is if we include a description of the field).
An example would be the textfield that we have in our Support Site :
- is related to
-
JRASERVER-37143 Allow placeholder in custom textfield

- relates to
-
JRACLOUD-41418 Allow admins to setup custom placeholder text in free-text fields.

JRACLOUD-4812 Default values of system fields
- Future Consideration

Hi everyone,
Thank you for raising and voting on this suggestion. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping and enhancing Jira for all users. Given the high volume of feature suggestions for Jira, we must prioritize those that provide the most value to the majority of our users. After a thorough review by the team, we have decided that we will not be able to implement this suggestion in the immediate future.
