Hi,
Our client, who uses JIRA with us, frequently complains about the useless state of this feature, so I checked it out myself.
This particular test system is running OS X Mavericks, Java Version 7 Update 51, Google Chrome 32.0.1700.107 and Mozilla Firefox 27.0.1.
These are my findings:
- Google Chrome has abysmal support for Java, so you pretty much can't use Chrome to use this feature.
- When using Firefox, if the popup window seems stuck on the Java logo, click on the logo and the correct form appears.
- If this works, it requires you to have stored the screenshot in your clipboard. On Mac OS X, this can be done like so:
- Command+Control+Shift+3: takes a screenshot of the entire screen and saves it to the Clipboard
- Command+Control+Shift+4: enables you to select an area, which it takes a screenshot of and saves it to the Clipboard
- HOWEVER, in my tests in Firefox, after hitting the paste button, the form becomes completely unresponsive.
