Stash, Fisheye and Crucible all support setting a custom Gravatar URL.

Stash lets you customize the URL completely, which means you can have a non-Gravatar compatible avatar/thumbnail server, or just a directory of JPEGs (e.g. http://intranet/pictures/%4$s.jpg)

Fisheye/Crucible allow for a Gravatar compatible URL to be customized. So if you have implemented a local/intranet Gravatar compatible endpoint as we have, you can point Fisheye/Crucible at that to get avatars.

However the Gravatar support in JIRA is hard coded. All I would like is the ability to customize the Gravatar URL which is used so I can point it at our local Gravatar service and have one source for avatar pictures across our Atlassian setup.

I don't mind if this is something which needs to be configured via application properties (this is how Stash works)
