How to add an event handler for project version edits?

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      JIRA supports several project version event types, e.g. Move and Release (https://docs.atlassian.com/jira/latest/com/atlassian/jira/event/project/AbstractVersionEvent.html).

      However, there is no Version Modified event(ie. VersionUpdateEvent). Any suggestions on how to capture this event (short of editing the JIRA source)?

      I want to add a handler that is invoked when a version name is changed.
