OnDemand users unable to access 'Import a Workflow Bundle' functionality

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

The bundled add-on JIRA Workflow Sharing Plugin, Version: 1.1.0-m22 is available in OnDemand instances, however the functionality to 'Import a Workflow Bundle' and 'Import from XML' is not available. The only option is to 'Import from Marketplace'.

The 'Import a Workflow Bundle' feature is only available to System Administrator. This prevents OnDemand users from importing their workflow bundles to an OnDemand instance but the user can export a workflow bundle from an OnDemand instance.

There is no workaround available, only a selection of workflows can be imported from the Marketplace.

The vast majority of workflows cannot possibly pose a security or even a performance risk to On-Demand. Presumably you have a hole in your security environment that nevertheless allows the XML import to be abused.

Please consider characterizing and plugging the hole with a security scanning step during import, instead of just telling us (customers) that we can't import workflows. Thank you.

I've added a note to the AOD docs to indicate that this feature is not available in On Demand.

            Hi,

OnDemand users cannot upload workflow bundles directly because it poses a security threat to JIRA instances. This action can only be performed by system administrators, and this privilege does not exist in OnDemand.

            Regards,
            Josh Devenny
