    Description

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

According to our supported platforms we don't support Oracle 10G any longer. Confusingly although, customers are to set up their instance using the parameters set out here.

Namely this attribute in the dbconfig.xml file:

        <database-type>oracle10g</database-type>

Upon boot, the output in catalina.out looks like this:

           Loading entityengine.xml from : file:/home/rpillai/atlassian/jiralive/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/entityengine.xml
Entity model field type name : oracle10g
           Entity model schema name :
Database Version : Oracle - Oracle Database 11g Express Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Beta
Database Driver : Oracle JDBC driver - 11.2.0.2.0
           Database URL : jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:XE
           Database JDBC config : oracle10g jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:XE

It would be less confusing if the JDBC driver could output that it was configured for an 11g database, and not a 10g database.
