I'm trying to connect JIRA 4.4.1 to a Sql Server 2008 database using Windows Authentication (it's a violation of my company's security policy to store passwords in files, so I must try to avoid using Sql accounts).

I attached the error I'm seeing. Although jTDS supports windows authentication, I think your parser is requiring the username and password to be specified.

I've attached my dbconfig.xml. Note that there is no username or password element. I've also tried just leaving the username and password element blank and got the same error.

Please add support for Windows Authentication and Sql Server.
