      Use case:

      I created a search request and wanted to add it to my dashboard using the Filter Results gadget straight away. Instead, I had to go back to the dashboard, add a gadget, and then configure it.

      It'd be nice if there was a quick way of doing this from the Issue Navigator screen - maybe an option from the Tools menu. You would have to prompt the user to save the filter first, unless we had a Results gadget that just took an arbitrary JQL string.

      I just noticed that the Charts allow you to do this already. So it would be similar to this.
