    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Opening on behalf of customer:

When an issue is shared or a watcher is added, there is no log in the ticket history.

If JIRA is to be used as a support system, all transactions should be logged and visible, if it needs to be presented to a court of law in case of any end customer litigation involved.

[JRASERVER-32125] Request to Save History When Issue is Shared or Watcher is Added

To ensure our process is mistake-proof it would be very helpful to know if the "sharing of an issue" was forgotten or if it was ignored.  No way to do this unless the "sharing event" is added to the comments (but preferably to the history) of the issue.  If it was added to the "comments" section then I think the user should have used the comments section with an "@" notification rather than the sharing function.  Thus adding the "sharing event" would seem to be more appropriate to be added to the "history" of the issue rather than to the comments list.  Thanks

Is there a similar request issue for Confluence?

We use "share" feature for request to vote before the issue is closed. So, we would like to keep the list of board who received this request handy. What is the status on this?

this should belong in the activity panel of the issue history.

mentioning single users in comment instead of sharing can achieve this, but you can't do this for sharing with groups or external email adresses

Any Update on then this could be included in a release?

            Thanks

This feature would be very helpful, because what we often hear from our developers is "How could I have known?".
To show them that in fact they received an E-Mail, we need this history.
But not only for the by system sent Mails also for the feature "Share this issue" we need an entry in the issue trail.

This would be a very helpful feature to have in JIRA. It would be helpful to note from a planning and tracking perspective who are the users who were explicitly informed of an issue (share).

When sharing, it is important that the message is available in the history / log.
