    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Opening on behalf of customer:

When an issue is shared or a watcher is added, there is no log in the ticket history.

If JIRA is to be used as a support system, all transactions should be logged and visible, if it needs to be presented to a court of law in case of any end customer litigation involved.

I was just searching for this information and found this ticket. Please consider this a +1 (I also voted officially) as this is useful history for accountability purposes that we currently have no visibility into.

This is essential!  All history of the ticket should be tracked.

Hi Atlassian - Please prioritize adding this feature. It would be massively helpful to our teams to be able to understand when a user is added as a Watcher to an issue, and who added them.

As a specific example, my company's leadership are sometimes added as Watchers to issues and then receive many notifications about the issue. As a system administrator, it's tough that I can't give executives any information about who added them as a Watcher and when - this makes Jira sound like a much less performant system than it is.

            1+, Same here.

This is an essential requirement when performing a Jira audit, This is a fundamental and easy-to-implement feature for the Dev Team, please allocate the time/resources to address this.

It's incredible that a so basic function is still unattended/not-implemented after 10 years.

            Hi Support,

This feature might be useful for agents and admins to keep track of when an email notification has been received by a watcher.

This feature would be very helpful, because what we often hear from our developers is "How could I have known?".
To show them that in fact they received an E-Mail, we need this history.
But not only for the by system sent Mails also for the feature "Share this issue" we need an entry in the issue trail.
