      Atlassian Update – 5 January 2016

      Hi everyone,

Thanks for voting and commenting on this issue. As more and more of our customers look to move to JIRA Cloud, we are deeply interested in supporting your migration. Unfortunately, we have not been able to start working on project import for JIRA Cloud yet, so it's not possible for us to project when this will be released. However, we consider this a top priority and plan to address it as soon as possible.

It's important to understand that we rarely try to implement individual features from jira.atlassian.com, but instead take a holistic look at the problem and use feedback from the comments here and a dozen other sources of customer input to solve the core problems.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or feedback.

      Regards,
      Dave Meyer

      Original Request

Currently the Data Importer only supports "Instance" (http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Restoring+Data) imports, but support for for "Single Project" (http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Restoring+a+Project+from+Backup) imports is also required.

This limitation makes instance migration/merge a difficult task.
