If there is an existing user in JIRA e.g. jond with the email address written in lower cases e.g. jondo@mycomp.com and he sends email from mail client config with mixed cases e.g JonDo@mycomp.com. When the mailhandler processes the messages, it fails to match the sender with the existing JIRA user.
Additionally, JIRA sends to Forward similar a similar error message:

An error was encountered whilst handling messages from the mail server "confluence-support-system@ (Confluence support emails)" using the handler "class com.atlassian.jira.service.util.handler.CreateOrCommentHandler".
