Option "Dependent story constraint" breaks scheduling in Kanban Mode

To reproduce:

• add 2 work items, add a dependency
• assign to different team members, Kanban mode
• disable "Dependent story constraint"

expected:
One item should be scheduled after the other. The description of the option is "Forces dependent stories to be placed in separate sprints.", so I dont expect this to have any effect on a Kanban schedule.

what happens:
The 2 items are scheduled at the same time, breaking the dependency
