Issue Summary
When attempting to embed a Jira Product Discovery (JPD) board view in a Confluence page using a Smart Link, Confluence displays an error message and does not render the board view. This issue is reproducible on multiple Atlassian Cloud sites (including both customer and test environments). Single JPD idea links render correctly as Smart Links, but board view links do not.
Note: Single JPD idea links (e.g., /jira/polaris/projects/<ProjectKey>/ideas/view/<IdeaID>) render correctly as Smart Link cards/previews.
Steps to Reproduce
- Ensure both Jira Product Discovery and Confluence are on the same Atlassian Cloud site.
- In JPD, create or open a board view (e.g., “Board by status”).
- Obtain the shareable link for the board view (URL pattern: /jira/discovery/share/views/<view-id>).
- Go to a Confluence page (edit mode) on the same site.
- Paste the board view link into the page.
- Wait for the Smart Link to load, then select Display as → Embed.
- Publish the Confluence page.
Expected Results
The JPD board view should render inline within the Confluence page as an embedded Smart Link, displaying the board and its ideas.
Actual Results
- After pasting the JPD board view link and selecting “Embed,” Confluence attempts to render the board view.
- Instead of displaying the board, Confluence shows the following error message in place of the embedded content:
We can't show you this Jira Product Discovery pageThe page doesn't exist or it may have changed after this link was added.
- The board view is not visible or accessible on the Confluence page.

Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
