Description
Issue Summary
By design, the "Send Email" action can only send emails to the first 100 users of a group of users. We have a Feature Request tracked in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JIRAAUTOSERVER-859 to make this limit configurable.
The problem is the fact that the Audit log of the Automation rule shows that the rule was executed successfully but the rule only sends emails to 100 users and there is no error message nor warning mentioning that the email was only sent to the first 100 users
Steps to Reproduce
- Create an Automation rule with Send Email action to a group of users that contains more than 100 users (could be 200 to 300 users)
- Publish the rule and wait for the rule to be executed
Expected Results
The audit logs should show some message to inform the rule admin that the user limit was exceeded. Something like “Group had more than limit of 100. Email send only to first 100 users in group”
Actual Results
The Audit log of the Automation rule shows that the rule was executed successfully but there is no message informing the rule admin that the user limit was exceed, which is misleading and can lead to confusion.
Workaround
Currently, there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
