Problem:
Jira displays aggregate time-tracking fields (e.g., Σ Time Spent) in issue lists and dashboards, rolling up values from sub-tasks into parent issues. However, these fields are flagged as Searchable: False, meaning they cannot be used in JQL filters or queries.
This creates a disconnect: users can see the data in columns but cannot filter or report on it. For teams that structure work hierarchically (Epics → Tasks → Sub-tasks) and log time at the sub-task level, there is no way to use JQL to identify parent issues where no time has been logged across the hierarchy.
Suggestion:
Make the fields Searchable: True might help to sort this out ![]()
