Issue Summary
When creating a new automation rule with an action to Create Service Management Request, after adding a request type and setting it up, when attempting to save, any error is shown, except for the red exclamation mark in the "Then" trigger action, as the example below:
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to the Automation rules, either the global rules or the project rules.
- Create a new Automation rule.
- Set a trigger, for instance, Issue created.
- Next, add a New Action > Service Project > + Create Service Management Request
- Select a Service management, next, select a Request Type, fill up the available fields, try to save it.
Expected Results
The rule is saved and ready to be tested, or information is shown on the screen guiding the user to adjust or correct the necessary field or configuration, or Jira accepts the value added to the hidden field.
Actual Results
Not able to save button, nothing happens, only error reported in the User interface screen is a small exclamation icon near the Action created:
Workaround
One possibility for this behavior is a hidden field in the Request type of the Service Management request:
- As a Jira administrator or Project administrator, go to the Service Desk Project configuration > Request types > click on the three dots of request name > fields
- Check if some field is hidden, as the example below:
- Click on Show for the field listed as Hide
- After, go the the Automation rules again and attempt to create the same rule.
- Fill up all the required fields and save it.
- Check if you can see the rule.
